2012 Super Pocket Bikes Reviews Images 2011

Super pocket bikes can reach speeds of over 65mph! These are some of the highest quality mini bikes around and they are sure to provide anyone with the right experience with more than just a few thrills. Probably the best part about these models is their power.  Built to handle the increased demands that will be put on these guys, manufactures have long since figured out how to match power, performance, stability and safety. The history of todays choices was derived from road racing circuits in Europe and Japan years ago and thankfully that technology has carried over to models we can now purchase, and afford.

From the models that I have seen, it always takes me a few minutes to realize these things are "real" motorcycles. Full faring, stretched out riding positions, some with really trick paint jobs makes it hard to forget that they are not full sized bikes.Much harder to tell from looking at a picture unless your standing next to them.Yes there are a few choices to make. What color? What size? How long will it take to get it once I order it?

So, take a blue one, (or red, or black), buy the biggest, (or not) and try and wait for two weeks while you anticipate its arrival. It may be the longest two weeks youve had for awhile, but rest assured the wait will be worth it.

2011 V Star 1300 Tourer Features

  • Engine Features - The New 2011 V Star 1300 Tourer 1304cc (80 cubic inches), 60-degree, SOHC, V-twin engine delivers smooth power to the ground, while maintaining the classic big cruiser sound and pulse characteristics. Fuel injected, each cylinder is fed by its own injector spraying into twin 36mm intake valves, while the twin bore design allows the computer-controlled system to feed a precise amount of fuel/air mixture to the engine. The result is strong, smooth and seamless performance across the full range of engine rpm. Four valves per cylinder (36mm intake, 32mm exhaust) provide optimum combustion efficiency, roller rocker arms reduce friction for better performance and reduced wear. Ceramic composite cylinder sleeves contain 100mm forged pistons for excellent durability and longevity. 9.5 : 1 compression ratio and aggressive cam timing produce plenty of power across the board and a distinctive exhaust note. Forged connecting rods ride a single crankpin for true V-twin sound and power. Sly cooling system routes liquid through hidden hoses and internal engine passages for air-cooled looks and liquid-cooled performance. Oil filter is easy to get to but also tucked nearly out of sight for clean, pure looks. The belt drive transfers power from the transmission to the wheel with authority. The belt system is virtually maintenance-free and delivers a quicker, more impressive throttle response feeling than a shaft drive. The classic cylinder fin styling of an air-cooled engine with the consistent potency of a liquid-cooled power plant. With the radiator set back between the down tubes discretely routed plumbing, the V Star 1300 Tourer’s classic beauty shines through. Hydraulic cam chain tensioner reduces noise and maintenance.

  • Chassis Features - The New 2011 V Star 1300 Tourer comes standard with hard leather-wrapped sidebags, passenger backrest and windshield. The touring package is designed from the factory so it’s styled consistently with the bike’s fluid lines.  Built on a double cradle steel frame, giving the bike a rigid base for nimble handling, while allowing enough frame flex to be comfortable on the open road. The swingarm looks sweet and gives the bike its great handling character. Mated with belt guards, the swingarm’s sleek design is intergrated into the overall styling of the whole bike. This allows excellent road bump absorption for all-day comfort on the great wide open. 41mm fork tubes with stainless covers look great and serve up a smooth, controlled ride. The fuel tank is sculpted low and sleek for style and comfort, with a flush-fitting, aeronautical-style gas cap incorporated into the tank’s sleek, flangeless-type design. The tank holds a generous 4.9 gallons of fuel, thanks to a remotely located sub tank that also houses the fuel pump, for plenty of traveling range on the open road. Seven-spoke cast wheels and matching rear pulley mount fat, 16-inch tires for a cool period look albeit with big contact patches on the road. Dual 298mm front and single rear disc brakes. Provides consistent and predictable stopping power for driving in traffic or out on the open highway. The handlebar bend is changed, bringing the bars closer to the rider for a more relaxed riding position. The shape of the seat has been designed with a dish shape for improved comfort, and it allows riders to touch the ground easily.

2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS Review

But anyone familiar with the still persistent Erik Buell knew we would see him and his influence in another street bike. It was only a matter of time.

Well, that time has become the Expo weekend Powersports Dealer in Indianapolis, Indiana, when Mr. Buell made his 1190RS streetbike again.

"Im in this deep!" Is he more Motorcycle.com the beginning of the cycle, with a mixture of joy and exhaustion on her face painted.

      2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

After Harley-Davidson has killed the Buell Motorcycle Company, Buell has restricted the construction of Streetbike motorcycle competition based solely on the construction of previous production motorcycles. This agreement has been completed.

Vision to produce a Buell sport bike U.S. enters a new chapter with 1190RS, a serious development in the countryside bike racing 1190RR private during the 2010 season with the AMA Superbike pilot Geoff May

Buell RS is wrapped in a fresh new skin, now with a full fairing for a sleek and trendy new carbon fiber. His nose is now very Pointier equipped with a pair of projector lens headlights stacked like Ducati 999, but in a more rational arrangement.

      2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

At the same time, the tail section is skimpier than anything weve seen before, only the slots to support frail body cast magnesium frame built in the U.S..

Speaking of magnesium wheels for the RS is something special. Magnesium alloys are not normally used for bicycle wheels in the street, as the pounding from bumps and holes can cause damage to the rigid metal and relatively fragile.

But a newly developed casting process - removal casting - has the ability to vary the properties of the metal, depending on what is needed where, and allows complex castings where the metal can be formed in a wide range of thickness . It turns out that work especially well for magnesium components that can be difficult to take specific levels. Buell said the new method allows a rim area ductile (able to easily deformed on impact to maintain the structural integrity), while they spoke and the central region can be constructed sufficiently rigid to support the bike.

      2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

The costly effort to reduce weight, including the adoption of a lithium-ion battery, which helps reduce overall mass to less than 400 pounds (wet but without fuel).

Power comes from a 1190RS motor modded Buell 1125R, enlarged to 1190cc via a task 106mm bore. Rotax - developer and co-developer of the engine 1125R - bought the rights for the Harley engine, and provides CDE with a central unit which is then fitted with new cylinders, pistons, crankshaft and cams. The ports are smoothed CNC machining. Titanium valves replace steel valves to allow higher speeds, somewhere in the upper rpm range-11000, according to Buell. The motor racing stage can rotate up to 12,500 rpm. The engine 1190 has recently adopted the EPA tests.

The cast-aluminum chassis is apparently similar to the 1125R, but it is actually a new design, new swingarm is also incorporating a chain drive instead of belt 1125R.

Gone are the awkward double-side-mounted radiators, which made it seem 1125R fat RADS replaced by a twin engine oil cooler in front of the sandwiching near the vacuum pump.

      2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

Buell continues his predilection for a front disc brake a little different now with 8-piston Nissin increased carbon through dual-entry fiber to deliver cool air to help heat the hangars. Its CDE has integrated its racebike since mid-last season.

No longer having to build bikes to suit a price level, Buell has equipped the RS high-end componentry. The top-shelf Ohlins fork and shock handle suspension duties, while billet aluminum is used to control foot and triple clamps.

As expected, all very exotic has a high price. Basic models start at $ 39 995, with a list of options that can increase the price of around $ 50K. Only 100 1190RSs be built.

      2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

Selecting appropriate dealers are the next step for the ROE. Buell said he does not care which brand (s) of a potential distributor is selling, but he insists that they are passionate about sport bikes. Initially, the first CRC 1190RSs sold by the activities of Buell in East Troy, Wisconsin, located in a corner of Buell former factory.

Buell is known for his many years of dedication and hard work endlessly, but he was again taken to another level. "I work harder now than I ever dreamed," he said. "I really enjoy it in a strange feeling manic."

And knowing the Buell, we expect more to come from his fertile mind.

      2011 Erik Buell Racing 1190RS

"There are many possibilities," he said about what might be next, including the possibility of new engine designs and cool bike.

1190R-platform development continues at the racetrack with a rider may Geoff test machine to another season in AMA Superbike competition.

2011 Harley Davidson FLTRX Road Glide Custom

The 2011 Harley-Davidson FLTRX Road Glide® Custom is a tough, low version of the shark nose Harley-Davidson classic, with a big 18 inch front wheel, a 2 into 1 exhaust, and a smooth tail light assembly. This bagger rolls with swagger. The innovative Harley-Davidson® Touring chassis is based on a single-spar, rigid backbone frame and a stout swingarm developed to withstand the demands of long-haul touring riders and todays powerful engines.

      2011-Harley-Davidson-FLTRX-Road-Glide-Custom

      Harley-Davidson Press Release

NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON® ROAD GLIDE® CUSTOM IS LOW AND LEAN

This Slammed-and-Stripped Road Glide Model Has a New Hot Rod Attitude

MILWAUKEE (July 25, 2009) - The new Road Glide Custom motorcycle is a tougher, younger vision of the shark-nose Harley-Davidson classic. Heres a bagger with a frame-mounted fairing that offers a lean, hot-rod look. Road Glide Custom leads with a big 18-inch front wheel draped with a clean FL fender, follows with a 2-into-1 exhaust feeding a long chrome muffler, and exits with a smooth new tail light assembly. Hugging the pavement on a slammed rear suspension, the Road Glide Custom rolls with a cool swagger.

But cool can still tour. That aerodynamic fairing offers outstanding weather and wind protection and holds a cockpit-style array of instruments. Hardshell saddlebags and the 40-watt Advanced Audio System by Harman/Kardon are standard equipment on the new Road Glide Custom model.

      Key Road Glide Custom Features
The rear suspension is lowered by one inch, so the Road Glide Custom model appears to hug the highway, a look that is reinforced by the "ground effects" trim at the bottom edge of the rear fender.
An 18-inch Black Slotted Disc cast aluminum front wheel has machined highlights. Combined with a lower-profile, 130/70B18 tire, the new wheel updates the front end styling and offers enhanced steering feedback.
An aerodynamic, frame-mounted fairing incorporates dual headlamps, a cockpit-style instrument display with silver-faced gauges, and two glove-box storage compartments. The frame-mounted fairing offers lighter steering feel than a fork-mounted fairing. New head lamp trim replaces the clear cover used on previous Road Glide models, improving serviceability.
A low-profile dark wind deflector creates a sleek shape up front.
The new 2-into-1 exhaust feeds a single, four-inch-diameter chrome muffler located below the right saddlebag.
The new tail light assembly joins a pair of red brake/tail/turn combination lamps with a sweeping chrome bracket that doubles as a visor over the low-mounted license plate. This design eliminates the separate tail/stop lamp. Tri-line LED lighting is located at the bottom edge of the rear fender.
The new custom bucket seat has a perforated insert in the rider position.
GTX nylon hard saddlebags have color-matched latches. Inserts fill the spaces between the saddlebags and the rear fender.
Streamliner footboards, brake pedal and passenger pegs feature full chrome pans and three chrome bands inset in the rubber surface.
The 6-speed Cruise Drive® transmission is fitted with a new helical-cut fifth gear for smooth operation.
      Tour with Custom Style
The Road Glide Custom model is built on the innovative Touring chassis introduced by Harley-Davidson in 2009, based on a single-spar, rigid backbone frame developed to withstand the demands of long-haul touring riders and todays more-powerful engines. The cast aluminum wheels were created using finite element analysis for maximal stiffness with minimal weight. The 180/65-16 Dunlop® D407 Multi-Tread rear tire designed specifically for the Harley-Davidson Touring chassis feature a harder center tread compound and softer shoulder compound to enhance handling and extend rear-tire tread life by 25 percent.

Air-adjustable rear shocks accommodate variable passenger and luggage loads. Chassis geometry and suspension calibration work with the dynamics of the frame to deliver a combination of comfort and handling from a touring motorcycle thats equally at ease rolling down the Interstate or negotiating a tight parking situation.

The Twin Cam 96™ V-Twin engine features Harley-Davidson Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) that delivers crisp response, easy starting cold or hot, and self-adjusts to changing elevation and atmospheric conditions. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) unclutters the handlebar area and enables an easy upgrade to optional cruise control. The engine is rubber-mounted in the chassis, and mated to a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission with a tall top gear for quiet, economical highway cruising. The exhaust system is designed to minimize heat exposure to the rider and passenger.

Harley-Davidson Motor Company, the only major U.S.-based motorcycle manufacturer, produces heavyweight motorcycles and a complete line of motorcycle parts, accessories and general merchandise. For more information, visit Harley-Davidsons Web site at www.harley-davidson.com.

      2011 Honda CBR125 R

The 2011 Honda CBR125-R SOHC four-stroke engine delivers excellent low-end and midrange power that makes getting going from a stop super easy. Liquid-cooling ensures consistent performance in hot or cold weather, or city or highway riding, while also improving reliability. Hondas advanced PGM-FI electronic fuel-injection system, with new settings for 2011, delivers the precise amount of fuel for optimum performance. You get easy starting, accurate throttle response, better overall performance, and improved engine operating efficiency. A balancer shaft inside the engine reduces vibration for a comfortable ride. The close-ratio six-speed transmission shifts smoothly and helps keep the engine in the meat of its powerband.A new stainless-steel exhaust system with stylish new muffler incorporates an oxygen sensor and a tri-metal catalytic converter to keep performance high and help the CBR125-R exceed the stringent Euro3 emissions standards. The clutch and throttle have a light operation that makes them easy to use.

      2011 Honda CBR125-R

      2011 Honda CBR125-R

Youve heard the buzz about the CBR125-R: its the fun and friendly Honda that has given so many Canadian riders their first taste of motorcycling excitement – and has given some long-time riders a new reason to smile, too. Well, the buzz has just become a whole lot louder, because a more advanced CBR125-R is here for 2011 with a new look and even better performance. Check out the stylish new bodywork, which gives the CBR125-R a bigger-bike look and also enhances weather protection and overall ride comfort, and the wider wheels and tires that improve the CBR125Rs excellent traction. What we havent changed is the nimble, confidence-inspiring handling from the lightweight chassis, the low-effort controls, the comfortable seat height, and the responsive, hard-to-stall engine with PGM-FI electronic fuel injection. Easy to own, easy to operate. The Honda CBR125-R sure is an easy bike to like.

      Crisp response, thrilling performance

The 125cc sportsbike class is where riding careers begin. It’s a machine that gives young riders the opportunity to develop their skills as early as possible. That’s why it’s a motorcycle with a huge responsibility.

It must be just as rewarding to ride as bigger Supersports machines, particularly around town and other places where power is less important. Young riders build confidence on two wheels with bikes such as a 125cc. And let’s face it, it’s easier to learn something when it’s made to be fun.

Since its introduction in 2004, the CBR125-R has represented the ideal first sportsbike. Compact, lightweight, refined, easy to use and with welcoming handling that the CBR family is renowned for. It’s a firm favourite with young riders the world over.

For 2011, the all new CBR125-R is ready to prove itself as the perfect first sportsbike for a new generation of riders.

Designed to develop the sports riding skills from the earliest days of your career

Superbikes are the ultimate road motorcycles. They offer a thrill no other bike can match. That’s why we designed the 2011 CBR125-R. A small-capacity bike with big ambition.

The brief to our design team was simple. Create a 125cc sportsbike with the look and feel of a bigger, more expensive machine. The new model had to retain the current CBR125R’s user-friendly handling characteristics and free-revving single cylinder engine, but packaged inside all-new sophisticated, lightweight and stylish bodywork.

Modern riders expect full-size proportions, so that meant more aggressive wheel and tyre specs too. We also added the latest advances in fuel injection and catalyser technology to make the CBR125-R more efficient than its predecessor.

If you want your riding career to start with a motorcycle built as a superbike from the ground up, look no further than the 2011 CBR125-R.

      Chassis/Suspension

Wider race-style cast wheels and wider high-traction sport tires for 2011 add to the CBR125Rs sporty credentials.

Powerful front and rear disc brakes mean sure, predictable stopping power and light effort at the brake lever and pedal.

A slim yet sturdy pentagonal-section twin-spar steel frame and a box-section swingarm reduce unwanted flex for better control during spirited riding.

Sporty chassis geometry, including a short 1,313 mm wheelbase, allow responsive, agile handling on twisty roads, but the CBR125R remains confidently stable on the open road.

Superb control and rider comfort are assured by the CBR125Rs premium suspension components, which boast increased travel for 2011 for better handling on rough roads.

High-tech chassis components contribute to the CBR125Rs easy-to-handle weight.

      Additional Features

Eye-catching new bodywork gives the CBR125R a more imposing, big-bike look while also improving rider protection and comfort in all kinds of weather.

The new fairing shows an unmistakable family resemblance to the big Honda sport bikes, including a bright new single headlight.

More-roomy ergonomics for 2011 maintain the CBR125Rs low seat height for rider confidence, while revising the location of the handlebars and footpegs for improved control and outstanding rider comfort. Together with the contoured new fuel tank, the result is an unmistakably sporty but easygoing riding position. The riders weight is distributed evenly, creating a posture that isnt tiring to maintain and that doesnt restrict movement.

The racing-style seat blends smoothly into the tank and side panels, providing a secure perch for sporty riding plus superb comfort for when youre just cruising.

Flip up the lockable passenger seat and youll find a spacious storage area for a spare pair of gloves, a light rain suit, or even your lunch.

New grab handles on either side of the rear seat provide the sense of security so crucial to passenger comfort, leaving rider and pillion free to enjoy the ride.

A larger 13-litre fuel tank improves the CBR125Rs range, and the filter that supplies clean fuel to the fuel injection system has been moved to outside of the fuel tank to make maintenance simpler.

Advanced multi-function digital instrument display includes a speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge tucked neatly behind the CBR125Rs windscreen, and all visible at a quick glance.

Choose between two head-turning colour options: all-business Asteroid Black Metallic, or the subtly flashy sophistication of Terra Silver Metallic with its distinctive orange highlights.

The CBR125R comes with Hondas renowned quality and reliability built right in.
1 year, unlimited mileage, freely transferable warranty.

      2011 Harley-Davidson XL 883L

      2011 Harley-Davidson XL 883L Sportster 883 SuperLow

The SuperLow™ is easy to own and fun to ride. Balanced and responsive handling help rider and machine glide through corners with smooth confidence. The combination of wheel size, radial tires and front-end geometry contribute to outstanding maneuverability. The final drive ratio is matched to the rear wheel size to provide smooth acceleration. Generous rear-suspension travel, a deeply cushioned seat and easy-reach handlebar offer outstanding comfort. A low seat height, the broad V-Twin powerband and clean styling complete a package that will make the SuperLow appealing to many riders.

The new Harley-Davidson SuperLow model reintroduces the pure pleasure of motorcycling. Balanced and responsive handling help rider and machine glide through corners with smooth confidence. A low seat height, the broad V-Twin powerband and clean styling complete an appealing package. The SuperLow is an open invitation to get out and ride.

Comfort is a key aspect of the SuperLow experience. A new solo seat with a deep, bucket shape and soft filler offers good support. The shape of the seat and its 25.5-inch height make it possible for many riders to put feet securely on the ground when the bike is at rest. A new handlebar is shaped to provide a natural arm position. Dual coil-over rear shocks offer 2.5 inches of wheel travel for a smooth ride.

Several interdependent technical elements play a role in the particular vehicle dynamics Harley-Davidson engineers sought to achieve in the SuperLow model. Changes made to tire size and a new front fork angle give the SuperLow 5.7 inches of trail for outstanding steering feel and feedback to the rider.

"In engineering the tire-and-wheel design and steering geometry for the SuperLow, the team applied lessons learned in the development of the XR1200X, which result in similarly significant gains in maneuverability," said Jim Hofmann, General Manager, Motorcycle Product Planning. "The SuperLow is of course a very different motorcycle from the XR1200X, with a different mission, but the theme of achieving a precise balance of steering geometry, tire profile and construction, and suspension tuning is the same and equally successful. It takes just one ride on the SuperLow to believe it."

The 18-inch-diameter front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel are fitted with Michelin® Scorcher® 11 radial tires. The profile, tread pattern and construction of these tires were developed specifically to enhance the handling of the SuperLow model. The new wheel-and-tire combination significantly reduces mass and inertia front and rear, which when combined with the tire design, improves steering response, and reduces steering effort.

Its low-profile radial tires, solo seat and long fuel tank shape give the SuperLow an appealing new stance thats wide and low. With an MSRP starting at $7,999USD in Vivid Black, the SuperLow is the lowest-priced model in the 2011 Harley-Davidson line. The SuperLow is also available in Cool Blue Pearl, as well as Merlot Sunglo/Vivid Black and Birch White/Sedona Orange two-tone paint.

      Harley-Davidson PRESS RELEASE 2

NEW HARLEY-DAVIDSON® SUPERLOW™ MODEL IS PURE RIDING FUN

Tires, Wheels, and Suspension Developed for Balanced, Responsive Handling

MILWAUKEE (July 27, 2010) The new Harley-Davidson SuperLow model reintroduces the pure pleasure of motorcycling.

With an MSRP starting at $7,999 in Vivid Black, the SuperLow is the lowest-priced model in the 2011 Harley-Davidson line. The SuperLow is also available in Cool Blue Pearl, as well as Merlot Sunglo/Vivid Black and Birch White/Sedona Orange two-tone paint.

Key features of the 2011 XL883L SuperLow include:

An air-cooled Evolution® 883cc V-Twin engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), rated at 55 ft. lbs. peak torque at 3500 rpm, has a broad powerband for easy get-away from a stop and smooth power out of corners.
The 68/29 (2.34:1) final drive ratio is matched to the rear tire diameter and promotes smooth acceleration away from a stop and at low speeds.
Equipped with Black, Split Five-Spoke with Machined Rim wheels front and rear. Rear wheel is 17 x 4.5 inches. Front wheel is 18 x 3.5 inches.
Michelin Scorcher 11 radial tires are designed specifically for the SuperLow. Front is 120/70ZR18; rear is 150/60ZR17.
      39mm Showa® fork with 4.1 inches travel.
Coil-over pre-load adjustable rear shocks with 2.5 inches of wheel travel.
Seat height is 25.5 inches. Solo seat has a deep bucket shape and is easy to straddle.
The handlebar has a wide, flat bend that places the hand grips and controls in a natural riding position for outstanding control and comfort.
The 4.5-gallon fuel tank offers extended range and helps give the SuperLow a low-profile appearance.
      Mid-mount foot controls.
